😏「and see if it + 動詞」の形は、何かを試したり、状況を確認する必要があるときによく使われるフレーズです。
提案や試行錯誤している状況でよく使われるので、言えるようになると便利だと思います。
📖例文
- Why don’t you give it a tap and see if it works?「軽く叩いてみて、動くか確認してみたら？」
- Push the button and see if it works.「ボタンを押してみて、動くか確認してみて。」
- Restart it and see if it works.「再起動して、動作するか試してみて。」💡Restartの代りにrebootもよいです。

🤖過去の投稿で「give it a try(ためしてみて)」をあげましたが、「give it a…」と「and see if it…」のコンビネーションは、
トラブルシュートの場面での黄金フレーズです。
🚗 1. 自動車開発現場でのトラブルシュートの場面
- Give it a firmware update and see if it resolves the CAN bus communication error.
「ファームウェアをアップデートしてみて、CAN通信のエラーが解消するか確認して。」 - Give the sensor connection a gentle wiggle and see if it stops dropping signals.
「センサーの接続部を軽く揺すってみて、信号の途切れが直るか確かめて。」 - Give the actuator a manual override and see if it responds to the signal.
「アクチュエータを手動で強制駆動させてみて、信号に反応するか見てみよう。」 - Give the ECU a hard reset by disconnecting the battery and see if the warning light goes off.

🤖give it a try「やってみて」という意味です。「やってみたら」や「試してみたら」のように相手に選択肢を与える言い方は、You might want to give it a try.のようにYou might want toを付けたりすることでワンクッション入れられます。頭にTry toを付けるのもよいですが、Try to give it a try.のようにtryが重なるのは冗長すぎる意味になってしまいますので避けるべき言い方です。
