[苦手な単語]see if「かどうか確かめる」
👨see ifってよく聞きますね。TOEICの文中にもよく見られます。
📖例文
- Let me see if I’ve got it right. 「私の理解が正しいか確認させてください。」💡ここでのseeは「確認する」であり、Let me see…の方ではない
- We can see if the devices are now up and running.「我々は今デバイスが稼働しているかどうか確認できます。」💡up and running「稼働する/作動する」
- I am calling to check and see if there might have been any progress. 「進捗状況を確認したくお電話しました」
- Let me call the security office and see if they know anything about it. 「彼らが何かを知っているか調べたいので警備室に電話させてください。」
- You could ask her and see if she will babysit.「彼女がベビーシッターできるか確認するために彼女に聞いてみたらよいでしょう。」💡この文に出てくるcouldは提案の意味です（≒suggest）。
- Let’s see if we can do it.「できるかどうかやってみよう(確認しよう)」
